Appreciation is the highest form of prayer, for it acknowledges the presence  of good wherever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts. – Alan Cohen This year, on Thanksgiving, as I reflect back on a very tumultuous year, terrible back pain/injury and then breast cancer…..I am so grateful for my life.  Grateful to be here today to write this post, for an amazing surgeon who caught my cancer early and moved quickly towards a plan of action and a cure.  I’m so thankful to ALL of the medical professionals who played a part in my healing, my family who was there for me every step of the way, and friends and neighbors who lifted me up when I needed it most.  For all the love in my life…..Thank you.  God bless you all...

My Brother, John.

You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to  them.  – Desmond Tutu John is ten years older than me, and since I was a young child he has always been someone that I admired and looked up to.   He was the big brother who took care of me, protected me and teased me non-stop.  He is a rare individual, deeply spiritual, incredibly talented – the strong and silent type.  Very striking with deep, dark brown eyes, long dark hair and a charming smile that lights up his face.  People are drawn to him, he is wise, kind and has a very calming presence about him.
