Week One Done

Week one, done!

Every day is a bit better, not so shocking, since I know what to expect now.  I can see how this treatment schedule will become more of a routine.  I’m getting to know the technicians, who are all great….I met a nice woman in the waiting area, Linda, who is in her final week of radiation. And another Doctor has been added to my “team”.  Dr. Beth Allen Moore, who will be checking in with me weekly.  Dr. Moore came from New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Greenwich Hospital.  I liked her a lot.  I am very happy with all of the Doctors on my team.  Which makes all the difference.

Focus….. A wise friend reminded me that I am doing this to live.  To go through this process in the hopes that the cancer will NEVER come back, in order to live a long happy life.  During the treatment, I kept repeating to myself.  I choose LIFE, I will do this for Christopher, for Dan, for Samantha and Connor.  For all of my family and for all of my friends.  So that I can be there with them all, to share the special moments that make life worth living…..for years to come.

Special thanks this week go to my amazing friends, Anne Randall, Linda Banta, Andrea Weetman, Cynthia Turner, Robin Giacomo, Laurie Rosenblatt and Jenny Webb –  for going to lunch, going with me to treatments and helping me put a positive spin on this week.  I honestly don’t know what I would have done without any of you amazing women during this emotional first week.

I am blessed to have such wonderful friends who are willing to share this journey with me.  It helps…..A LOT, more than you will ever know!
